Forgiveness is a characteristic of the Muhsinun

3 01 2010

“Those who spend [in Allah’s Cause – deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers).”

3:134

“For such, the reward is Forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing underneath (Paradise), wherein they shall abide forever. How excellent is this reward for the good-doers.”

3:136

Previous verses (3:133 to 3:135) describe other qualities of the people who will be admitted to paradise. One of those qualities is forgiving people who do wrong to you.

Allah forgives everyone and everything. Why shouldn’t you?
