Dua of Ibrahim (as)

“My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good

There is no barrier between you and God (Amazing verse)

29 04 2013

Allah does not care about your spiritual condition.. you can be a good believer or a really messed up person, He would still listen and respond back to you.

“And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad SAW) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright. “

O Allah! Make my love for You transcend the love of all other things!
And make my fear of You be more than the fear of all other things!
And make my desire to meet You override all the desires of this world!
And when the eyes of the worldly people are cooled and comforted by the world, make the coolness and enjoyment of my eyes lie in Your worship!

Seeking Allah’s Protection

21 03 2011

This is a copy-paste from:  http://makkah.wordpress.com/helpful-duas/

It is reported that Talq b. Habib said, “A man came to Abu Darda and said to him, ‘O Abu Darda, your house has burned.’ He said: ‘No, it cannot be burned. Allah will never allow this to happen because of the words that I heard from the Prophet, peace be upon him. Whoever says these words in the beginning of a day, the Prophet, peace be upon him, told us, will not be afflicted by a misfortune until the end of the day, and whoever says these words in the evening will not be afflicted until morning. These words are, O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You, I put my trust in You, You are the Lord of the Mighty Throne. Whatever Allah wills will happen and what He does not will, cannot happen. There is no power or strength except with Allah, the Exalted, the Mighty. I know that Allah has power over all things, and Allah comprehends all things in knowledge. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the evil of myself and from the evil of all creatures under Your control. Surely the straight way is my Sustainer’s way“.”‘
In some versions of this hadith we further find that he said, “Come, let us go. So he went with them to his house. They found all the area surrounding the house burned but his house was not damaged.”

Seeking divine guidance

21 03 2011

O God, I seek divine guidance so that I may remain steadfast in what is just.
I seek divine guidance in order to be firm in righteousness.
I seek divine guidance in the manner that I express my gratitude for Your favour and worship with devotion.
I seek from You a tongue that speaks the truth and a heart which is pure and clean.

Two short duas from the Quran

17 02 2011

Here :

“Indeed, I am overpowered, so help.”

(This dua was recited by Noah (as), read the verse before and after it to feel the power of this dua)

“Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the folk who are Zalimun (polytheists/wrong-doer) (i.e. do not make them overpower us).”

Dua of Sulaiman (as)

11 04 2010

My Lord! Inspire and bestow upon me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favors which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves.

27: 19

Update: (04/25/10)

Similar Dua in the Quran at another place:

And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and kind to his parents. His mother bears him with hardship and she brings him forth with hardship, and the bearing of him, and the weaning of him is thirty (30) months, till when he attains full strength and reaches forty years, he says: “My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my off-spring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (submitting to Your Will).”
